The Continuing Adventures of SuperPreemie

The attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object.

Posted on: May 27, 2010

Yesterday Shoshanna said to me, “Mommy, what’s the word for when an animal does something?”  I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about and the conversation meandered on.

This afternoon on the way home, she said from the backseat, completely without context, ANTHROPOMORPHISM!

Because that’s what she meant by “when an animal does something.”

Anthropomorphism.
