The Continuing Adventures of SuperPreemie

And now, actual CONTENT!

Posted on: May 21, 2007

I realize that with posting the pictures every day, I haven’t been doing much else! Sorry ’bout that. So here’s what’s new with us…

Independence. Oh my, independence. Anything that Shoshanna has EVER been allowed to do for herself, she now refuses any help with. Trying to help her brush her teeth results in a screaming fit. Trying to actually make sure she gets her hands clean, likewise. We have to budget extra time when leaving to go anywhere because she must climb into the car and into her carseat herself.

Pretend play. Not just her pretending to be things, which she is doing (usually a fireman), but extended pretend play with her Little People. This weekend she was driving them all to school in their school bus (one at a time, because the bus only holds 2, and one was the driver). I asked her if they were going to learn about numbers at school (many of them are holding numbers) and she said, “Yeah! And stop signs!”

Other random things that Shoshanna knows… red traffic lights mean stop, green traffic lights mean go. If you ask her to sing a song, she’ll belt out the Alphabet Song at the top of her lungs. She makes up songs, too. Yesterday she sang “Going to swimming lessons… going to swimming lessons… see Mr. Eric… see Mr. Eric… going to swimming lessons… going to swimming lessons” to the tune of “Where is Thumbkin” as we were, in fact, getting ready for swimming lessons.
