The Continuing Adventures of SuperPreemie

On the growth of Super-Preemie

Posted on: August 27, 2005

A couple of weeks ago, I realized that one of Shoshanna’s dolls is just about the same size that she was at birth. I haven’t put it on the scale, so I can’t say if it weighs 1 pound, 13 oz, and it isn’t skinny like she was, but the length and head size are just about right. Shoshanna’s very first hat fits the doll really well.

Just to illustrate exactly how much Super Preemie has grown in the past 11 months, I decided to try to get her and the doll into one picture. Of course, her first instinct was to try to eat the hat, which is cute but doesn’t illustrate the point all that well. Eventually, though, I was able to work fast enough to capture both her and the doll.

Pickles got a little jealous; he’s used to being the sole barometer of her relative growth, so I let him in on the action. He even got some solo time, until Shoshanna got bored with the whole process and decided that she had more interesting things to do.
