Shoshanna’s To Do List

Posted on: May 11, 2005

We’ve realized that Shoshanna listens to what Nancy tells us at the end of each visit and makes herself a little “to do” list for the following weeks. At the end of Nancy’s visit a week ago, she told us to expect to see the following soon:

  1. Using both hands to play
  2. Reaching for toys held at centerline while lying on her back
  3. Increased efforts at sitting up
  4. More rolling over
  5. some other things, but I don’t remember what…

Of these, Shoshanna has done 1 – 3. She’s consistently grasping at her rings with both hands, and she’s starting to use her hands in concert to manipulate objects that are too large for her to grasp. Nearly every time she’s in a reclining position, she’s trying to pull herself to sitting (and can do so with very little assistance). And just this afternoon, she was reaching for toys held above her at centerline. She’s still not too big on rolling over, though. She prefers to lay her head down on the blanket and cry.

and yaaaay on the developmental progress!

Helene used to do the same… as if she just didn’t know what she was supposed to be doing yet, untill the health visitor told her… quite amusing… really lovely to hear she is doing so well!!
