The Continuing Adventures of SuperPreemie

Sarah Wins the Bet!

Posted on: November 20, 2004

I was right – Shoshanna was back on the nasal cannula by the time we got to the car last night. Jen was very amused to learn this. Back on the cannula, she’s doing very, very well. She had one non-self-correcting desat today, and the solution was slight stimulation and turning her flow back up to .5l – they’d dropped it to .4l. Her respiratory rate was much better than it was last night, when she was off of the respiratory support. You wouldn’t think that just the tiniest amount of air pressure would make that big a difference, but it does.

Apparently her awake time is from about 7 – 8 every evening – she was once again wide awake when Jen arrived, but she’d fallen back asleep by the time we got there at about 8:30. She came out and played very contentedly with Matthew (by which I mean slept while he held her) for about an hour.
And she’s still right at 3 pounds.
