… an upper GI endoscopy with tissue biopsy. I don’t think I mentioned it, but we concluded in early September that the Dread Pirate Reflux was back in full force.
Honestly, I’m not sure it ever really went away this time. We took her off of meds in March and, to be honest, she had a [...]

We got a bill today for Shoshanna’s January GI visit. Apparently the insurance didn’t feel the need to, you know, pay it. Guess who I get to have a phone call with tomorrow? Just in time for her NEXT GI appointment next Thursday, of course!
UPDATE: Blame the USPS, or the slowness of [...]

Shoshanna and I had the following conversation in the car on the way to her GI appointment this morning:
S: Mama, what’s a due date?

S: Why my due date was in January but I didn’t come ’til September?
Me: Well, September came BEFORE January, and because you were [...]

I don’t think I ever posted about the ultimate Prilosec decision. We’ve now been reflux-med free for 4 1/2 weeks! Shoshanna’s doing fine without the Prilosec. We’re due to go back to GI in late January for a checkup, but if she’s still doing well then, she’ll be discharged from GI. [...]

Two appointments this week… On Wednesday, Nancy (the physical therapist from the Early Intervention program) came by to see how Shoshanna’s doing. The answer is very well. She’s just recently decided that she doesn’t loathe tummy time – I’m chalking this up to her ability to consistently raise her head to 90 degrees, [...]

We had our follow-up with the gastroenterologist today, after the sleep/pH probe study last week. Apparently Shoshanna had 33 “reflux events” during the time that the probe was in her esophagus, which is considered normal. As of now, she’s off of the Reglan (which has a rather long and nasty list of potential [...]
