Blogging sisters?

Posted by: Sarah on: November 9, 2007

We were some of the first of our college friends to have kids. In fact, the kid population among our college friends is still pretty small. All of Shoshanna’s good-condition, too-small clothes, however, get passed on to Baby Zoe, daughter of our friends Chris and Ann. We’ve been friends with them FOREVER [...]

On Children’s Clothing

Posted by: Sarah on: September 4, 2006

I usually confine my commentary here to cute things that Shoshanna has done lately, but this is a topic that really bugs me, and it came up twice this weekend, with two different strangers, so I’ll rant about it a little bit.

First dentist’s visit and crankiness explained

Posted by: Sarah on: February 24, 2006

Shoshanna had her first dentist’s visit today. Needless to say, she wasn’t a huge fan of the whole process! They cleaned her teeth and looked in her mouth, and she screamed and fought them the whole way. But they said that her mouth looks lovely and were impressed that she doesn’t drink [...]

It’s D-day…

Posted by: Sarah on: February 20, 2006

“W-Day” is probably the better term for it. Shoshanna took her first unsupported steps this weekend – she can only do 2 or so at a time before it turns into a very slightly controlled fall, but it’s steps. Here’s a little movie of her attempts; it’s about 2 minutes long.

Pajama-heads

Pajama-heads,
originally uploaded by sarahmichelef.
In a fit of silliness over the weekend, Shoshanna and I were bouncing around the house with her pajamas on our heads. I mean, that’s where pajamas are supposed to be, right? She looks kind of grumpy, which isn’t surprising since the nagging cold that she’s had for about a [...]

She’s got rhythm…

Posted by: Sarah on: February 2, 2006

Like the parents of many proto-toddlers, we carry a small container of cheerios with us everywhere we go. This container is not just food, though. Lately it’s become a favorite toy, because it makes such a nice noise when you shake it. This evening, we were having an all-family dance party in [...]

On becoming a monkey

Posted by: Sarah on: January 23, 2006

Shoshanna has discovered the power of climbing. She kept climbing into her swing and then falling, so we took it down to prevent her from hurting herself. Then she figured out how to climb into her bouncy seat, which still lives in her room. She thinks making that bounce up and down [...]

Checking things off of the list…

Posted by: Sarah on: January 23, 2006

Not that we keep a list, but it’s always nice when another doctor says that they only want to see Shoshanna on an “as needed” basis. Today she was discharged from GI – she’s been off of reflux meds for four months with no problems. Check that one off the list. We [...]

Various and sundry

Posted by: Sarah on: January 16, 2006

Shoshanna has had a COGNITIVE EXPLOSION! Her communicative skills have improved by leaps and bounds over the past couple of weeks – she’s learned to point to ask for things that she wants, which has its pluses and its minuses (plus: we can give her what she wants to eat. minus: we know [...]
